Everybody's at it
Mixed media ( Cabinet, crystals, strip lighting, fabric, tin. tubes of paper, silk worm cocoons)

This work uses materials I sourced locally from around Shanghai whilst on a four month residency. One thing that I noticed especially about the city were the huge numbers of colorful bright neon lights used in advertisements or signs, here I am drawing influence from these visual experiences .
The piece is an adorned tank for silk worms that I hand raised to cocoon in. There are over 15,000 crystals which took about 2 weeks work to individually place and hand stick. Not only does this reference the repetitious factory work people associate with China but these crystals are something that I personally link with China as they adorn many items.
